I am a spiritualist/wiccan
I can not stand when anyone is threatening to anyone, especially those who can not help themselves
If there were a way that we could assure that they would stay in certain buildings with their own kind (the rehabilitation rate is something like 3% overall, so letting them out into society again, just isn't an option for me)then I would let them live peaceably....
I would not trust a rapist or child molester around someone that I loved, ever. I am very very tolerant of the general public, but these people have no place within it's walls.

Islamics think they should praise them.
Westerners think they should jail them.
The potically correct on Y/A think it depends on your religious persuasion or national origin. They think some are exempt and others aren't. Some say it depends on the era you are in.
Let's see. A Cathlolic Priest takes advatnage of them it's not cool.
An Islamic Prophet takes advantage of them it's partially cool depending on who you talk to, including liberal Western Women who want to be poltically correct.
Obviously there is no consensus on this issue.
It's open to debate.
So the concept of Child Abuse and Pedophilia is a debatable issue.
Let's remember what a PREDITOR is, it's someone intimidating to a small, helpless person who has limited or no say.
In a system of belief where SURRENDER is required, that makes anyone a potential victim.
Let's see how many "thumbs down" I get for my non-commital answer.

Child preditors need to be punished to the full letter of the law. If they kill a child they should be put to death. But never mind what we people can do to them. While Jesus was holding a child he said this...that if anyone should harm one of these (a child) he will wish that his punishment was like hanging a millstone around his neck and throwing them in the sea. I dont exactly know what Jesus will do to them but I would not want face Jesus on judgement day guilty of this

Interesting question, thanks for asking it. I have always been a firm believer in second chances. I truly feel that one's childhood plays a huge part in how you are as an adult. If you are molested and abused in childhood and then grow up with no one to help you through it and show you that what happened to you was horrible and wrong, chances are you will grow up doing the same. Horrible I know but "understandable" FOR LACK OF A BETTER WORD PLEASE DON'T JUMP ON ME FOR THAT. I feel that they should get counseling in jail because people can change, we see it all the time. HOWEVER, many of these people are truly evil, don't want to change, will never change. For those people, chop off their balls and shove them down their throat. That totally didn't help did it. Oh well.

THAT IS SUCH A GOOD QUESTION !
And a very difficult thing to answer. I'm Christian and even in the Bible God would stop the terrible by death. So I'm not sure if I'm completely against capital punishment or not, depending on the horrific crime. And a child predator is one of the worst.
This is a very tough question...

I think the same for them should be done as we do for the people that kill our neighbor's, rob our bank's, torture and leave for dead, etc. They should do their time and they should be receiving treatment. What is worse? A mollested child? The perpetrator is sent to a Mental Facility. Not sure if you knew that. If the person however murder's the child then their punishment will be prison. The U.S. is ridiculous when it come's to this topic because no one want's to talk about. I wonder what all those priest's are given in term's of rehabilitation after committing a sexual act with a child? The Church pays for their freedom. Sad huh!

I don't believe in capital punishment although I do think that some people (child molesters) deserve to die. I don't believe in capital punishment because there have been and could be someone on death row that is innocent. You can't make the rules to apply to some and not others.
So I think that they should be castrated and treated like sh*t.

punishment should be given with great care... there are far too many perverted animals out there who deserve no mercy...death is too good for them.....but....there are also far too many cases where some one has been falsly accused and has been punished sevierly and had their lives ruined unjustly....there are enough documented cases of men unjustly accused by wives of molesting their children and of children falsly accusing a parent of abuse...or teachers being falsly accused...so greater care must be given to establishing the truth and not actiing with too much haste.........But there are clear cases where there is no reason the perverts should ever live to see freedom again.... just leave them in the prisons... the other prisoners know how to deal with child molesters.

I think there is a better question to ask, what can be done to prevent people from becoming this wacked out to prey on little children. I am not a psychologist and you asked this in the religious section, so here's my view.
Most acts of sexual perversion are caused by the repression of sex in our society. This is caused 100% by religious fanatics that think sex is "unclean". These same people also think that when someone does act in a sexually perverse way they should be punished to death by burning oil, flogging, or beheading. Ii am not saying that society is to blame because we all have to take responsibility for our own actions, but for once, let's try to prevent problems instead of perpetuating the cycle.
Oh yeah, religious aligment. Deist, or maybe agnostic, not 100% sure.

yes this is a sad fact but, under the group u have chosen to ask, Religious, i am forced to say that God is a forgiving God. They are some that change and for those that don't it would be better to keep them out of society. it is not our call or our choice to kill, so i think that putting them in prison for life is enough, as well as forcing , those repeat offenders to do hard labour
