Most people on here have no idea what the Minute Men do.Its just ignorance to talk about something you obviously don't know.
I live in Arizona. My husband and I both support and are members of the Minute Men.There are brown, black, red, yellow and white Minute Men.It is not now nor has it ever been a racists group.
Yes I am very much for placing our military on our borders.Secure the borders and then begin the systematic deportation of all illegal aliens.I don't care about their color, race or country of origin
The Minuteman Pledge
A Minuteman upholds the Constitution of the United States of America, and reveres the American Creed that unites us as one people, our Declaration of Independence.
A Minuteman knows well America is a nation of immigrants, and realization of our national promise has always relied upon those who come to America from other countries to participate fully, with their children and descendants, as loyal and law-abiding U.S. citizens.
A Minuteman believes that just as ethnicity, race, religion and all such factors are incidental and do not affect our God-given, constitutional equality as American citizens, such factors are also irrelevant in the debate over illegal immigration. There is no tolerance among Minutemen for racism or bigotry - E Pluribus Unum - Out of Many, One.
A Minuteman believes in a strong, safe and secure America that begins with borders open only to those who have a legal right to enter, and who have met all the lawful criteria to cross into our territory established by the sovereign American people.
Minutemen vow to use every legal means at our disposal to assist law enforcement authorities in identifying and apprehending those who violate our borders, whether they are illegally trafficking people, weapons, arms, property, sexual slaves or any other contraband.
Minutemen vow to report to the proper authorities any business entity which knowingly recruits, facilitates or employs people who have entered America illegally, or which cooperates in any commercial activity which involves contraband smuggling or marketing of persons, products or material.
Minutemen promise to raise our voices -- on cellular phones along the borders of America and in the halls of Congress -- in the defense of the rule of law. The American people are firm but fair, and we share their great compassion for the many powerless victims of cruel, illegal human trafficking and labor exploitation. But we also support our citizens' adamant rejection of the blatant disregard for our laws and ordered liberty represented by the U.S. government's failure to secure our borders, enforce our nation's sovereignty and end the flood of illegal trafficking into American territory.
I vow before God and my fellow Americans that these principles guide my actions as a Minuteman. "Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty..." And so I will stand watch on America's borders and in her sovereign interest until relieved from duty by my fellow countrymen.

Ok, this may sound really stupid, but before 9/11 I always thought that military jets patolled our skies, that the Navy had ships at all ports protecting them, and that all of our border crossings were manned by military personnel, and the rest of the borders were patrolled by the border patrol! Im 42 years old, intelligent, and very much into politics and follow it religiously, and here I am admitting how dumb I have been! I seriously DO think that having our borders, both Canadian, and Mexican should be militarized. That is the ONLY way those illegals are going to get it through their heads that you must immigrate to the US legally, and if they can't do that then they can't come over. My policy would be that you would get one chance to turn around and go back and if you give me any ****, then as an american I should have the right to shoot you on the spot, and not have to worry about going to jail. After a few dead bodies maybe they'd think twice about this being such a great place to immigrate to.

I don't know about patrolmen, but the minuteklan...er, minutemen should just butt out because they're just using this issue as a way to cover their xenophobic and racist leanings. Building a huge wall on the border between here and Mexico is stupid, it's not going to stop anyone.
Even though the Berlin Wall split one country, Germany, into two separate countries and became West Germany and East Germany, whereas building a wall on the US/Mexico border is different because two countries are involved as opposed to one. The purpose behind a wall built along the US/Mexico border and the Berlin Wall that divided Germany into East Germany and West Germany was to keep people from crossing to the other side. The wall that would separate the US and Mexico would keep Mexican citizens from coming here illegally, and the Berlin wall that stood between West Germany and East Germany kept the citizens of the communist East Germany from escaping over to West Germany so they could have political freedoms that were nonexistant in the East. However, that didn't stop many Eastern Germans from attempting to or successfully escape to Western Germany. The same would hold true for us as well, as we would have Mexican citizens who want a better life attempting to or succesfully escape their country to come here. Both walls were pointless, and for one to be built here is proof of history repeating itself to an extent(we're not a communist country, nor is a wall dividing one country).
Besides, Canada has already done their part and secured the border between their country and ours. Our borders shouldn't be militarized anyhow, 9-11 is over with and we've done the best that we could with border security post 9-11.

A country without borders is not a country ... if need be, America should militarize the borders and rebuff the ongoing invasion ... which could not happen if it wasn't for the government's encouragement of this ludicrous situation ... all part of the nefarious spp plan, which will come into effect in 2010 unless the American people wake up and do something about it ...

Absolutely, yes! Unfortunately, since 9/11 we must live in such a way as to totally protect ourselves from being invaded by any foreigners. We need better immigration laws to prevent mishaps. There are people trying to do it the right way and wait for years. Why should those suffer because some want to do it illegally? ILLEGAL: definition: UNLAWFUL: against the law, Why does Mexico think the word immigrant means only Mexicans?

America should do a lot of things it's not doing. We could defend the border against all those Mexican farm boys no sweat with a few honky tonk cops. What we can't defend that way is the animalistic drug and gang elements that hold that area in sway to move dope and illegals into the US. For that we need the men in green. They got the bang bang they need and the high tech stuff to move the bandidos over.
But, of course we won't do that. Another of the many things we won't do.

We need the fence. The military on the border would be a great idea, they would not put up with any BS, give the illegals a chance to stop or be shot, no If and or buts. You would see a big drop in crossings very fast.

America needs to step up security , as does my native Australia. The people that are populating our countries are one day going to join islam and rise from there working class jobs to destroy what we cherish, Democracy.
America and Australia need to close the flood gates to the rest of the world and assimilate all the communities and ghetto's into mainstream society or else there will one day be an uprising from within, not from outside borders.
So, I think It is even more important for our sister countries to focus internally first for that is where the danger will come from in the future.
Peace from Australia

The US should enforce the laws it already has. A wall isn't going to do anything but waste time & money. Illegals (wherever they are from) need sent home. 80% of the illegals caught have criminal records, so this should be a big, flashing neon sign to the fools that think 'illegal alien' means 'immigrant'.
