Hinduism believes in the concept of soul (atman) Buddhism does not (anatman). Hinduism believes in omnipotent god, Buddhism does not logically agree. Both share the same ideas about karma and rebirth BUT Buddhism, via prince Siddhartha's efforts, found a way out of that cyclical existence (i.e. samsaric existence). Hinduism is still struggling with the caste system, Buddhism has tossed it.

Both still require gurus and lamas to help you progress, and both have tantra (Buddhism's tantric path is called Vajrayana Buddhism within the Tibetan traditions) which needs a lama.

Both share the idea of ahimsa (non-harming). These are but a few of my favorite things... hope they helped a wee bit.

I think Buddhism has no Gods, and Hinduism has multiple gods that are actually all one god. Hindus want to achieve moksha, and buddists want to achieve nirvana.
