You assume I am stupid just because I believe in a god? I have even been told that Pagans (like myself) are even more pathetic than Christians or any of the main-stream religions. I can take a joke but that has got to be the worst insult ever. I have no problem with you not believing the same thing as me. In fact I have helped defend atheist against religious fanatics and fully support their right to not believe in a god. I have a high respect for Atheist and their willingness to question the existence of god in spite of the attacks from religious people (mainly Christians) condemning them to hell for doing so.
Pagan/Wiccans are one of the few religions that do not condemn people for believing different. The few that do are ignorant and do not understand the beliefs we are supposed to uphold and have no business being a part of us. Free thinking and respect for those who support it are our beliefs if anything else. We don’t convert, condemn, or bother anyone in less it is in defense.

Can we agree to disagree on god and focus on what's important? Exposing religions that are intolerant, ignorant, hypocritical and put them out of business. Those religions are the true threat and need a wake up call. Those are the religions that cause war and corrupt free thinking. These are rights that need to be upheld and it is hard when I am being looked down on by the same people I am trying to support. I know not all of you do this but it has happened enough times to call it to attention.

I usually don't attack pagans, since they leave me alone and I respect that.

I don't know anything much about Paganism.
I used to be a xtian. I am now an Atheist and I cannot understand how I was not able to see the truth back then. Religion clouds the mind. Self rightousness just feels so good that many people don't want to even consider the fact that what they have believed for so long could be false. They believe that they are in a special group and that god reveals his truths to them because they are acting the "right" way.

I don't think you're stupid, just misguided. There are thousands of gods that humans have invented and believed in fervently, yet not a bit of solid, provable, verifiable evidence for any of them. There is a link below to a list of many of these gods. I suppose one can simply go through the list and pick which ones to believe in?
At any rate, I have more respect for pagans and Wiccans than I do for Christians. As you said, they don't hold the belief that those who don't agree with them are going to a place of eternal torture, and they don't go door-to-door proselytizing, and they don't have multimillion-dollar mega-churches sucking money out of poor, gullible saps who have been brainwashed into giving away their money to rich pastors. In other words, they mind their own business. Too bad Christians don't do the same.

So my question is Are Atheists Idiots? no longer all, yet relatively some them are. Do you human beings even understand what Stoicism is? No. The Atheists I even have met listed under are no longer an exceedingly nicely examine bunch. I don't think that atheists in general think this. I don't.
Now, I do think that if you believe in the supernatural (for example, in gods), that you're wrong, but I don't think that makes you an idiot, or stupid, or anything like that. One need not be stupid, brainwashed, crazy, etc. to be mistaken. I'm sure that I'm mistaken about many things myself.
I do think that there are quite a few people here who are idiots, but it's not simply belief in the supernatural that makes me think that. It's idiotic arguments (e.g., those used by most of the creationists). I think that there have been some perfectly intelligent believers here. Belief on its own is not a mark of stupidity.

Who called you an idiot? Are you sure it wasn't some troll posing as an atheist? No one is an idiot for their beliefs. SOME people act like idiots but believing in a god or not believing does not make one an idiot. You have ALWAYS given good answers and asked great questions. Don't take things personally for one. Second try not to generalize, you know as well as everyone else that not all atheists call people idiots for their beliefs. In fact I would say its a minority. Also keep in mind the small percentage of bored people who are even aware yahoo answers exists. I for one respect most everyone as individuals and your ability to compose a well written tirade shows that you are probably not an idiot.

I would consider my personal beliefs Deist, but I could not agree more. All of you ignorant people out there from every faith (or non faith, atheists) need to live and let live. Quit trying to be self rightous and telling everyone else how to live. Besides look in the mirror, if everyone was just like you the world would be more screwed up than it is now.
