Hello from Liverpool, England

I am currently watching 'clueless' and I have heard the word 'tardi' for the first time.

Is this a made up word for the film, or is it something to do with american schools?

I think I need a translation dictionary for this film, it seems to be in a different language1!!!

OK Numbnuts. Tardi is an English word that means untidy, slovenly messy etc. As in tardi appearance, tardi arrival, room left in a tardi condition.

To be tardy (not i) is to be late. You would be late for class, lunch etc. Clueless does have some strange dialog, and it has been casual conversation used by teens in some areas of the US but not all. (I have the same trouble when I watch various British shows lol)
