Caffeine has no effect on me. I can drink a can of Coke, have a cup of tea or coffee, or all the tree combined, right before bed and will be able to fall asleep with no trouble. I tried a Red Bull one time to see if it would 'wake me up' while we were on a long car-ride. It had no effect on me. My husband however, drinks a caffienated bevrage and he is all 'wired' and needs to burn off the caffeine before falliung asleep. I know his reaction is 'normal' and mine is not. SO>>>> why does caffeine not effect me?

I'm guessing your secondary adenosine receptors are busy doing something else - perhaps you have fewer of them? who knows. There are wide variances in individual responses to any drug. Which is why there are so many of them for any single condition.

It will effect people in different ways. Since you are interested in the caffeine and coffee, I found this interesting information about the history of coffee. Did you know people use to eat the beans?
