They should have given you an anti-fungal cream, which truly is the only way to get rid of a ringworm. If the cream is not working then they need to prescribe a new cream because some treat the fungus better than others. Also, the oral medication should be an anti-fungal, because ringworm is a type of fungus. Good luck, I am sure it will go away with time and treatment!

Ringworm is a fungus and can be cured by an antifungal cream sold by any drugstore. Of course showering regularly and using soap can prevent ringworm.

Lotrimin AF. It's for athlete's foot, but it says on the tube that it's good for ringworms and it does wonders for diaper rashes.

Also have your friend wash any clothes or sheets in hot water that she may have touched with her ringworm.

For a cheap and easy way buy some Tinactin or anything else for athletes foot. All ringworm is a fungus. Anything will work if its for foot fungus or jock itch.

well, my boyfriend just had this problem, he caught one from the barber shop.. he tried many over the counter creams, and it would stop being red for a few days but eventually come back.. finally he went to the doctor who prescribed him a cream to put on it every night, and some pills to take, i believe antibiotics and it went away completely.. the doctor also said its in your blood so you have to take those pills to kill it on the inside..hope this helps!
oh and if she cant go to the doctor and she wants to try over the counter stuff, "star blue ointment" is pretty good.. i would also ask the pharmacist at your local pharmacy, they always are a big help!

Paint the area with iodine one time and one time only. Works like a charm. One treatment and it's gone and won't spread.
