You are right! The dog won't know an old useless pair, from your best shoes, or your Dads, or your Moms, etc. etc. Instead of giving her shoes and training her to chew all shoes, give her rawhide chews or dog toys. Whenever I take something away from my dog to stop chewing, I give her a toy or chew instead.

You're right, it is not a good idea to give your dog even an old worn pair of shoes to chew, as your puppy will not know the difference between allowed and not allowed. Find other things that your puppy is allowed to chew and encourage that instead.

Dogs generally don't understand the difference between chewable shoes and nonchewable shoes. You should give your puppy something completely unlike shoes to chew on, like dog bones.

I think that you should move all your pair of shoes to a higher place so that your puppy doesn't chew on them.

don't give him the shoe because he won't understand it later when you punish him for chewing the shoes.

I must agree with you. The puppy doesn't know the difference between and old pair or new.
