How long after your wedding day does your Target Registry stay up on the website?

Like what if the person doesn't go through with the wedding or the couple breaks up right after...do they have a choice to have it removed before the normal length?

Target registries are a pain, take it from a newlywed. However, they will stay valid for 90 days after the wedding date. If you want to cancel it, you can effectively do so by changing the names associated with the registry and deleting all the items. No one will know. You could also change the date of the event to get it to go away faster.

Registries typically stay online for 18 months - 2 years at large nationwide stores, such as Target and Macys.

Both of my daughters were registered at Target and when something had to be returned it was a major hassle. They both cancelled Target and registered at Bed Bath and Beyond. Much nicer place to deal with.

I didn't have an answer for you, but thank you for asking this. I was contemplating registering at Target but after reading these answers, I think I will stay away.
