He is dominating Golf like no player before him. His success rate in majors is over 25% and his PGA tour success rate is over 25%.

No-one in the history of the game was as dominant over a 10 year period.
Nicklaus was great but he never won 6 tournaments in a row(Tiger Woods has done it twice), he never won 4 majors in a row, he never beat his opponents by such big margins, he never won 3 US Amateurs in a row, he never won more than one US Junior. Nicklaus never went a 2 year period winning 20 out of 40 tournaments(Tiger achieved this 1999-2001).

Even Nicklaus conceded that Woods is better: "He is playing a game I'm not familiar with. I'd hate to be young again and compete with him".

I think success ratio is more important than tournaments won. I wonder what Jacks success ratio was after the first 10 years of his career. Probably not anywhere near as good as Tigers.

Well the only way you can question it is by looking at the others. Bobby Jones.... Grand slam. Byron Nelson 11 in a row and 17 out of 23.... Sam Snead 86 tourney wins. Arnold Palmer.... brought golf to the masses. Jack Nicklaus 18 majors Tom Watson 6 British opens. Just because the media wants to make Tiger the best does not mean he is. ALSO when Byron Nelson won 11 in a row he did not take off months because he was tired. He drove to the tournaments, no private jets. Tiger has a long way to go to be the best.

For me...Tiger Woods is really the Best Talented Golfer Ever!.

Until today, Jack Nicklaus is considered as the greatest golfer to ever live. I don't know if Tiger woods will be granted this title some day.

What really impress me is the fact that since he was a kid he was focused on winning and reaching all his goals.

At 10 years old, Tiger Woods, had all Nicklaus records on paper and he committed to break all of them when he grow up!

I'm wondering if his or her kid will play golf!?...will his kid be better then him?...will he be able to raise a Golf Champion?

Anyway, I wish him the Best!

yea!, I am not going 2 deny that Tiger Woods is amazing, but you will never really know because of new technology its easier to play than when the likes of Sam Snead, Arnlod Palmer, Jack Nicklaus etc....the ball has changed a lot it flies further, you just never know how they would have played in these condition or vice versa, but i think Tiger is amazing player.....but they all have once thing in common, they work hard a what they do/did to get where they were and they all have massive amounts of natural talent. They all had parents which pushed them in the right direction.....all good sports professionals have things in common, but back to the subject....i think its too easy to say Tiger is the best in the world because of technology that he has on his side these days.

There is no doubt that Woods is the most dominate golfer playing today and that he is destined to break Nicklaus' records. I , for one am not quite ready to knight him with the title of greatest ever. I would prefer to wait until he has played another eleven years and see if he is able to sustain his dominate play. Instead I would much rather applaud his humanitarianism. In closing, let me say that his dad, Earl Woods, did a laudable job raising his son and grooming Tiger to be be the man that he has become.

I think that people from dfferent era's have different views on who the best ever golfer is. There have been many greats Hagen, Jones, Woods, but for me Nicklaus was the greatest. But lets not forget some of the great entertainers of the game like Trevino.

Tiger may very well be the very best. With the depth of the fields now and his consistent success, no one can deny that. But Bobby Jones is still the only golfer to win the Grand Slam, as soon as Tiger does that, I think it will be unanimous.

Absolutely agree...I would jsut add that in Jack's day there were really only a dozen or so players he had to contend with....today, the overall talent of the top 125 players on the PGA tour is so far superior than in Jack's day that it makes Tiger's accomplishments even that much more amazing.

Without a doubt, Tiger is on top. But the game of golf has a history of exceptional athletes.
Check out the life story of Ben Hogan, they made a movie of it that will move you to tears.

I think tiger will break jack's records, but until the majors and total wins marks are broken people will probably still debate.
