I'm still deciding, but yes it is rare, but I have come to terms with that fact. I think it has to do with most of the plantation owners being Christian and passing it onto their slaves. Blacks identified closely with the slavery of the Jews under the Egyptians. Christian leaders also played a prominent role in the civil rights movement. On another note in general middle and upper class Americans are more likely to be atheist. Blacks have a higher percentage of people in the lower class than other races, hence higher religiosity rates.

There are some contributors of any team it extremely is arbitrary in direction of yet another. on the entire, the final public have not got a topic with a man or woman being Christian or with Christianity. To hate some thing is to have thoughts for it. maximum atheists merely don't think in God and depart it at that. it extremely is an somewhat few that extremely hate or dislike anybody faith over the different.

My brother in law is an atheist and he is black. He just doesn't believe in the miraculous things that were supposed to have happened in the bible. He believes that we are all just here and we all just create new people but there is nothing after death. I definately notice that there are more white atheists

I'm almost offened but it isn't worth it. Let get past the race, and all the things that seperate or make us different. There's believers and non believers....we come in all shapes and sizes. Remember we belong to the same Human race and all live on the same planet.

i'm sure there are black atheists but the majority of blacks I know are christians. maybe because they are a smaller group and happen to be involved in their church. same reason a country like Portugal is 90% catholic... its just one of those things

Let's refine the question: Is there a correlation between atheism and... skin color, I guess?
I'm sure somebody's studied this question before.
