Why do people give a thumbs down to others who got an answer correct and did it faster than you? If everyone but the last answerer got a thumbs down, we know who did it!!! Anyone else think it's silly?

Yes~ thumbs downs are supposed to be if you don't like the answer- not just because you were faster than they were on a trivia question. That IS silly.

That's not true. The last person may have answered after the person giving thumbs down left the area. Some people just go in and give every body a thumbs down and don't even answer the question. Yes it is silly. They need to have their voting privileges taken away. Maybe they need to put stars on the answers too so you can only give a thumbs up!!

Actually... Thats not always true believe it or not. Sometimes, random people will come read the question... read a few answers and gives a thumbs up or a thumbs down.

Yeah I think it's silly.
I try to only Thumb up on the ones I think are good.
The ones that I Thumb down, are the ones that repulse me and that's not very often.

Seriously though I agree, it is stupid and unethical. I don't fully understand the reasoning behind it but I think its just plain mean-spiritedness.

Because for those type of people this is just a game.
With "Answers", I try to get something out of it, and I try to give someone something to think about. If someone doesn't like my answer, they're entitled to their opinion.

Yahoo Answers gives people this odd kind of power, and they want to exploit it to make others feel bad. They are jerks, but I can't think of any way to stop to them
