No, the necessity of blood sacrifice was cancelled at the cross. You still have to repent from sin, but you no longer have to pay the price of blood sacrifice in order to achieve forgiveness from those sins.

I'm not sure what the "think outside the box" meant. Are you looking for something "goofy" or is it the alcohol talking?

Yes, but only for those who believe and have asked for forgiveness can be saved. Sin-debt was canceled at the cross, but people are not perfect, and we've been given FREE WILL and forgiveness has to be asked for before it can be given. It's not something that's implied.

No, all sin-debt was not cancelled at the cross. Jesus died for those that the Father had given out of his eternal election, not for all of mankind, and so the ones that would not believe in him would be left in their sins. Jesus' prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane is pretty straightforward, IMO.

no it was not. on the cross the sin-debt for all believer's was paid, not cancelled. the bible states that without the shedding of blood there is no remission for sin. just as the blood of bulls and goats and animals was used in the ot, Jesus, the ultimate sacrifice ,was in the nt because of man corrupting the ot sacrifices and no one being able to live up to the ot law given to Moses. if we have anyway to get to heaven ,other than believing on the Son of God as our personal saviour ,then Jesus died for nothing.

yes and no
I've studied the Bible, and this is only my opinion, but here it goes...
like a parent, God has disciplinary actions in place if you sin. but it's not time out or a spanking. The wages of sin is DEATH. so, Jesus died on the cross for all sin, so that you wouldn't have to, however, this sin cancellation doesn't happen to You, until you ask God to forgive you of your sins.

Original sin.
Those you were born with.
That is why babies who are not baptised cannot get into heaven (according to Catholic church).

The sins you commit now (killing, etc...) either cardinal or menial (major & minor), are not expunged until you confess to the appropriate person (priest, etc...) and then atone for that sin (make reparations).

Or you could just repent on your deathbed, and receive absolution. Unless you were gay, then you automatically go to hell.

How about this, be a good person, and leave the world better than you found it. I bet that gets you into heaven. If it does not exist, you did your part to make things nicer for others.

Cheers!

Of course. And think about the implications from god's point of view. "D--n it, I hate those humans, they disobeyed me! But I will relent if I send them my son and they kill him! No deal if they simply listen to him and keep him alive! I want a blood sacrifice, just like in the OT!"

NO. Everyone is accountable for their own actions. You reap what you sow. The notion that all bad actions for all time (rape, murder, theft ... shall I go on?) were canceled out over 2,000 years ago is silly.

original sin was cancelled for all mankind. maybe even all past sins... but not future sins.
