I don't know the age restrictions, but you can buy prepaid credit cards at currency exchanges directly and some large chain grocery stores. You can also look up "secured" credit cards, which are cards that have to have money put on them versus an unsecured which is a financed line of credit allotted by the bank. Also, if you have a regular allowance or job, you can co-sign with your parents for a checking account which now come with visa/MasterCard check cards that are the same and limited by what you put in the bank and comes with the same online protections as secured cards depending on the bank you choose.

I'm guessing at 15, you won't qualify for any of these things on your own and until you can get a co-signer, you may be able to hand the money directly to someone who will in turn purchase it online for you.

good luck

There are secured credit cards in the market place where the card is backed by a savings account. But generally students (minors) would need a parent to sign with any credit arrangement. Banks look at your employment, income, debt and credit history in granting credit - even secured - because companies can charge small purchases without getting approval and these transactions might put you over your secured limit. There are fraudulent companies out there too - beware. You might consider talking to your parent or guardian - see if you can give them the money and use their card for your online purchase.

Yes. You can get a prepaid credit card through Visa, Mastercard. Discover, and American Express. You should talk to your parents they can help you do this. There is nothing wrong with being 15 and trying to purchase things online, as long as your parents are aware. At times you may not be able to purchase items online due to your age (depending on the item as well as the company rules and regulations).

Visa offers a prepaid credit card for teens called Visa Buxx Card. Here is the link:

You can ask your parents or you can go to a mall and get a gift card more information provided at this link:

You can locate a merchant that sells Visa Gift cards or a bank that does them:

Mastercard also offers gift cards. You can ask your parents to take you to their bank, and get a prepaid card through there.

When I was 16 I had a Simon Mall Visa Gift card that I used to purchase items. I never made a purchase online on it, but it was nifty.

Good Luck.

Try the wired plastic prepaid debit card. You can load it at lots of locations and use it like a credit card. I have one, and I use it instead of using my credit card to order stuff online. www.cardoffers.com You may have to get your parets to get it for you though.

western union has a pre paid mastercard that you can buy, and the card gets mailed out to your address, under your name. you put the amount of money that you want to spend on it but they charge you to do that. And plus I think you need to be over 18 yrs old. ask an adult better.

You'll need your parent/guardian to co-sign with you after you turn 16 and until you are 18 in most jurisdictions.
