I feel nauseated-like my stomach is turning. Also, I feel very depressed & bored with my life. I feel scared for my future, as well. Do you think this is just anxiety?
I have a college degree, & I am about to have a big change in my life. I'm homeless (in a shelter) & about to get a place to live, & I'm worried because I can't plan out or predict my future. I can't even plan what this summer is going to be like for me because the shelter don't want me to work nor go to school. I'm being held back from fulfilling my dreams & pursuing my goals, & I'm upset about it.

You gave a good description of why you feel like that.
Have you thought of going back to school to pursue an advanced degree? The shelter staff cannot keep you from going back to school if you desire. I think you are capable. You are level 6 on Yahoo answers which shows alot of time and dedication.

i think it is all nervousness, exhitement, and a little anxiety as well. I suggest you jsut push forward with your life. Everything that doesn't kill you makes you stronger. But if it gets out-of-hand, I stuggest you go to the clinic and make an appointment with a doctor. For the stomach, your stomach can hurt if you are hurting in other places, or you may hae the flu, by all means, go to the clinic.
Good luck with the new home, and the new life!!!
don't worry that you don't know what to do next after getting the degree. lots of people are a little confused at this time =)
Me hopes me helped =)

Sounds like you need to take control of your life. Get a place to live, get some work you like and don't let people at the shelter tell you what to do. Once you begin, your depression will lift, and the anxiety will go away. We all can take it a day at a time. Yesterday is gone and tomorrow isn't here yet. Let it be easy.

there is a lot of stuff going on in your head and your body and in your life.
the best thing to remember is that we can't control everything that happens (this coming from someone who hates being out of control and who suffers from severe anxiety!!!!)
You have already achieved a degree and maybe you should enjoy the summer for what it is, a break.
the only person who is holding you back is you. we often blame other people when we can't work out how to make something happen.
you know what you want, you just need to find another way of getting it. there are so many paths in our lives that there isn't just one way of getting some where.
you should go see a councillor but don't expect that medication will fix your problems. you need to work out what you want and come up with different ways of getting it. working through your problems and fears is the key here.
good luck and try to enjoy what you have and know and try not to worry about what you don't know.

Why is the shelter holding you back? So you can get assistance?
I agree that it is anxiety. You are feeling out of control, so to speak. You need to work, you need your own place. Do you not have any family of friends that can help you out for a little while until your feet are on the ground? I am so sorry that you are feeling like this. Please do not despair. Try and go with the flow. If the shelter is going to help you, then do what they say for now. Once you have established yourself you can thank them and move on. Gosh, I wish you the best of luck and please be strong, things will work out.

You need to be more grounded. Your ego is afraid of the changes in your life and does everything it can to hold you back. Try to remember that you live in the present and not in the future. If you feel stressed and overwhelmed make positive affirmations like, "I am strong and capable of achieving anything that I desire. I have a beautiful house and a good job etc." Feel confident and don't be afraid of anything.
