There are a few private clubs that still use caddies. I played at the Medina Country Club once in the late 90'S(Chicago suburbs) and we had a caddie and a golf cart!!! The caddie was down the fairway when we hit our drives so we never had to worry about losing a ball and the caddies held onto our putters and gave them to us when we arrived on the greens. All very unnecessary but that was how it was.

Yes, many do especially if the course is wet. Medinah #3 requires a caddy and Augusta, Pebble Beach, Whistling Straits and other top courses only have caddy's...no carts. Check your top rated local courses and remember to compliment the golfers you are working for. You will get GREAT tips.

actually, i'm a professional caddy with purely about 3 years and 500+ rounds of experience. it truly is about repetition and practice. there is no longer any more something more suitable sensible than actually seeing balls rolling on the greens from numerous spots and hollow places. in case you receives out on the route and roll or putt some balls on the greens, which could be your appropriate wager. examining putts will be very complicated and under no circumstances human being-pleasant. purely watch the PGA expedition and spot what volume putts at the prompt are not if truth be told overlooked yet misread through the proper pastime enthusiasts and caddies on earth.

TPC course here requires a caddy if you are going to walk the course. You can ride without one. Whistling Straights in Kohler, WI supplies caddies as well. I'm sure it's just the real upscale that do.

I guess caddies would be used on private country clubs. The role of the caddie was pretty much killed off by the golf cart. But if you get a job like that, please let us know. (Now if you move to St Andrews, you can caddie...)

Most courses that still caddie are private, semiprivate courses, or if you live close to a resort style course they usually have caddies.

I don't know of any places but can tell you they do. My friend made a but load of money doing it. Unfortunatlly he was grandfathered in. Never hurts to open your phone book and look though.

Yes, but they're the upper class courses mostly. They're not common in middle class suburbia.
