how would you explain the color red to a blind person...?

you just can't. since they don't even know what color is then you can't.
I'm really sorry about that person being blind. hope he\she is doing fine.

Not a stupid question. I had 2 friends in college who were blind. They never asked what red looked like. They tasted food that was red and got the idea. Think about it. You know what ketchup or spaghetti sauce tastes like. They never saw their blindless as a handicap. They knew their world from their other senses. Their perception was focused on the other senses. I remember once when one of my friends and I were in a group of people. He told me who was lying.
When you get that hypothetical question of which sense you would not want to lose, most people pick sight. Not me. I think hearing would be worse.

Well, I am quoting this from that film Cher - the singer - was in a decade or two ago, the one where she had a disabled son. He bolied an egg and put the egg, while it was still hot in his girlfriends- (who is blind) hand, and described to her that red is hot, red-hot.

Rocky does that in the movie MASK from 1985. He puts something hot in the hands of the blind girl (Diana) - that is red.

akshly for a blind person, its really hard to do so. but i think if u just tried to put him/her in such a situation that is make him/her feel angry, feel heat, ummmm, shy, these feelings make help u descibe sth , but from personal xperience u cant, at least this person must have seen sth though his/her life.
