in which location are you asking about?

alot of chemists in Bangkok and all other touristic places in Thailand. The best idea if you want medicines is to goto the real places. Fake medicine isnt really a big business as the drug trade is severly frowned upon in thailand.

Basicly if you stick to the bigger well known areas and shopping outlets the chemists will be normal everyday legal places.

Last time i went, if i needed a chemist i used BOOTS, as there are loads of them and i use them back in the UK. Even stocked alot of the same things as the english stores do.

Why are yo so concerned? what are you wanting to buy?

If you are considering Thai made medicines or from other countries as opposed to name brands - most pharmacies will carry both and you can distinguish by asking for the brand name.. I just bought cough medicine.. One was from Pfizer and cost 40 baht - the other was Thai - same ingredients, tasted the same, worked the same - 20 baht..

So, if I understand the question - then the answer would be that most Thai pharmacies carry both.. I would not call them fakes but generic brands..

Buy from chemist shops and pharmacies, they usually stock the real stuff. Fakes are found on the street, you are not likely to find the real stuf. And the cost will tell you so too.
