Why do people keep running over a string a dozen times with their vacuum
cleaner, then reach down, pick it up, examine it, then put it down to give
the vacuum one more chance?

my mom does that. then she finally runs it over and the string gets wrapped around the thing that spins very fast and in turn, stops it and the vacuum starts to smell really bad, so she calls me claiming that she has no idea what happened and demanding that i fix it. it's a vicious cycle that never ends. you'd think she would eventually learn.

simply too lazy to bend over & pick it - b/c that would mean they have to walk to the garbage can to dispose of it....& that would definitely be entirely too much exercise!

because it may cause them to exert an additional erg of energy to bend over.
