Maybe this incident has nothing to do with the DUI charge.
Have you ever been arrested for DUI? Did you then appear in court? If you were arrested and then failed to appear, that's what the warrant is for.
The incident you describe would not result in a DUI charge.

You never state that you was not drinking. It seems you was observed doing so. As for them not following, they might have a law about high speed pursuits or such (you never said how fast you was going, but admit not stopping for them-which is a felony) but they abusively got your tag number. With that, they can, and sounds like did, charge you with DUI. Another thing, when the police turn on their lights on you, by law you have to stop. Failure to do so, or by refusing a sobriety test (even by running) is reason enough in most states to lose your license. I personally have no sympathy for any driver either drunk or high. And personally think they should all spend jail time, and not no 30 days.

I have a feeling that there's MUCH more to this story than you're telling....for example, "the cop flipped on HER lights..." If you were never stopped, how did you know it was a female cop?
You need help? Go get a lawyer. Just don't lie to the lawyer the way you've lied here.

That does seem odd.. seem they should have charged you with felony evasion for not pulling over.. which is more serious than a misdemenor DUI in my state anyway in CA anyway they dont actually have to pull YOU over for a violation.. they cite the registered owner of the vehicle...
You def need a lawyer... as now you have a DUI & a FTA

this is actual yet in regulation enforcement all of them they choose is an excuse to tug you over. Then what ever they discover will change into admissable except its determined that the reason he change into stopped for change into bogus. At this aspect if it has no longer lengthy previous to trial yet then get a lawyer. a sturdy lawyer might want to be ready to get all of it thrown out because the policeman change into interior the information for overzealous value tag writing.

Must be more to this, but if it was all there is to it, then there would be no way of you being convicted on a dui charge under those circumstances

You're leaving out a lot of information. If you really were behind the wheel and hammered then you need to be in jail. But, we need more information. Start with the truth !

b9teamchi tells it like it is which is what I think you are failing to do.
For a police officer to flash their lights and not stop you usually means they want you to get out of their way.
If you got a warrant for failing to appear,it means that you already had a court date that you failed to show up for prior to this incident and I think all in all is just coincident.

so, its the cops fault---go to the clerk of courts which is usually under the courthouse in your town and ask about the situation.
it may just be a mistake.
