So, here goes ...

We have been dating for the past two months, everything is great ... we're both madly in love with each other. Last week, he was sent to Calif for 5 days business trip, I miss him terribly ... so I openly said it to him all the time while we're on the phone or just texting each other. I believe he misses me too ... but the funny thing is he never really said it first. It's always me who said it first and then he said "I miss u too!" ... he did though said "I love you" first most of the time and then I usually said "I love you" back. What's with that anyway? I mean ... does he not miss me? I kinda want him to say it first instead of me saying it first all the time. Anyone has anything to say?

I know exactly what's going on. If he's as enthusiastic and/or sincere when he says it as you say he is, the reason he says these things after you do is because he probably feared that you didn't feel the same, or at least wasn't sure about it. He was just waiting to ensure that he didn't seem to vulnerable or like he was going too fast. I believe he is glad you said these things first.

Maybe he has a lot of things on his mind OR maybe he doesn't want to sound too "mushy" if you know what I mean

i think you're reading too much into this especially if he said 'i love you' first then i don't think you should worry.
