guys if you like a girl do you offer her free weed? a friend of mine told me that this is what a guy does to court a girl these days. Is this true?

Your buddy is an idiot... trade in those kinds of "buddies" for ones that live in the real world... POT may not be the most evil drug on the planet... but in the end all pot does is press the "hold" button down on your life for 10-20 years. It's hard to concieve a future when your sitting around all slant eyed and burnt. drinkin' soda and piggin' out on doritos...
Nothing has changed at the "dance" nothing says "I like you" more than walking up to a girl and saying "Hi... I like you"...
Of course if for some odd reason you have a phatty in your pockie... and she's into that sort of thing... then you'd be an a** if you sparked and didn't offer... all things considered and morality aside... There isn't anything wrong with sharing with someone you like.
