im not totally sure on the other branches, but i was in the army, and know that yes, you can get promoted while pregnant. as long asyou passed the last PT test you took before you were pregnant. if you were going for sergeant, you would still have to go to the board and make points and everything, but you could get promoted, ive seen it happen.

Yes. Not being pregnant is not one of the promotion criteria in ANY of the armed forces.

When I was a First Sergeant I had several pregnant troops promoted.

Not getting promoted ONLY because you're pregnant is a violation of federal law.

I don't remember seeing a place on a promotion eval where it asks if the person is pregnant or not.

For the US Navy during the period of 1985-1999, YES. I stood several squadron awards ceremonies next to young airmen getting "frocked" (receiving their promotion) to PO3 or PO2 while wearing their pregnancy uniform.

They WERE placed on limited or light duty while pregnant... mostly to avoid solvents and other chemicals and heavy lifting.

yes, i would say it would be discrimination if if a company would try not to promote a qualified person because they were pregnant

you are only flagged for promotion if you were flagged prior to becoming pregnant. However, you cannot go to WLC or BNCOC, etc until after your profile is over.
