You can take him out whenever you feel ready to. You should be careful taking them around alot of people because of flu season and rsv. My pediatrician recommended not taking them out till they are 2 months old and had their first round of shots. I didnt take my boys out to the store or busy places till after 2 months. I did take them outside in the sunshine on nice days.

I asked my pediatrician the same question and his response was if the child is healthy enough to come home from the hospital than he/she is healthy enough to go out into public. Remember, the healthies kids are the ones who are exposed to germs and enable their bodies to fight them off. I also think that everything antibacterial is NOT GOOD!!! Unless you use the bathroom, just regular soap and water will do just fine. Good luck and take lots of pictures. They grow up so fast!!

I had my daughter out two days after she was born (somebody has to go to the grocery store!). At 8 weeks we were on a 13 hour international flight on our way to introduce her to all the relatives. At 2 1/2 she is happy and healthy. She has only been ill one time (knock on wood). Get out! Now is the time....they can't run fast yet! :-))

OMG. Anytime you're ready!!! 2 weeks after my son was born, we spent the weekend at my cousin's house, and went to the local strawberry festival every day that weekend. You have to take certain things into consideration, like sun and temp. exposure, loud noises, bumpy terrain (like driving the stroller on the grass/ other bumpy places) and make sure you take the time out to take care of baby's needs the same as you would at home like feeding the baby in the car before going into the store, or changing diaper and giving meds on time. But mostly, this just means being prepared for taking time out, and not being in too much of a rush, in other words: giving yourself extra time for everything, not avoiding activities altogether. You'd be surprised how adaptable babies are, this really can be the easiest time in your child's life to take him/her out. (not like when he/she's two and always wants to run away and take a fit at not getting what he/she wants... lol!!!)

Yes you can take your baby out any time. Just don't take him to a crowded place like a mall where he/she will be exposed to germs/smoke etc.

A walk around the block every day will be good for both you & your baby. If you live where there's too much snow or cold for a stroller, strap him/her up in ....they used to call them Snugglies, & off you go.

i took my baby out the house at 2 weeks. just outside for some air, of course it was nice out when he was that age. i wouldn't suggest you take him around alot of people until he has his first set of shots (about 8 weeks) because it is flu season and infants can easily get rsv in this season. what did his pedatrician say?

If you delivered your baby in a hospital-the newborn was just in the most germ filled place so you can take your baby out anytime. I went out to dinner with my newborn son the night I got discharged from the hospital with my family. If you are concerned about strangers touching the baby, wear him/her in a sling.

Oh and tons of people will say "not until they have their shots", well their shots aren't complete for months with the boosters, so if that's the truth you should keep your kid in for at least a year !
