lol you should talk to her! This is exactly like the movies Meet the Parents and Monster in Law. The victim in these movies confronted the person that disliked them and in the end they became friends! I hope this works out!

She might be over protective of her son. A lot of mothers are like that. Have you approached her about it?

If you ask her and she says that she does not like you then you have to go on with your life. It will be hard but you can do it!!!!

My sister-in-law does not like me. I have gone out of my way to get along with her. My husband has talked to her about it. She says that she does not care and she is going to be who she wants to be. So, I keep my distance from her. I do not socialize with her. When she calls our house, I am polite to her when I answer the telephone. More and more each day it bothers me less and less. You can not make anyone be nice to you but you can demand respect.

just go over to her house and sit down, and ask her straight out what her problem with you is. don't let her back down and say she doesn't have any problems with you. let her know that her son is very important to you and that she is very important to him. let her know you that if you can't be friends, at least act decent towards each other for his sake.

Is there any harm in asking her?
You want to know, because you care and it hurts you... tell her that, let her know that it's hurting you... if she does care, she will explain and open up.
