Hi I bought a puppy few days ago, l when he first entered my house he was healthy and full of energy, however just last night he started to have diarrhea and throwing up what should I do, I know I should take him to the vet but I live in a small town and they are closed due to a storm.
Should I feed him steam rice mixed with worm milk or his food.
p.s. when I bought him the shipped him here he was 8 weeks old and the health certificate indicate that he had no syndromes and I don’t think that he became sick because of our home. Oh he is eating this food called I am.

If your puppy is throwing up, and had diarrhea it could be a case of parvo.
here is a website explaining parvo, how it is spread and treatment. www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?cls=2&articleid=467
If he gets sicker and your local vet has a 24 hour service I would reccomend calling. If not ASAP in the morning

Most vets are closed on Sundays(vets and staff need time off too) but there are usually emergency vets open !! sounds like it could be parvo. There is no way a vet or breeder could have known about it before. There is no way to test for parvo unless the pup is showing symptoms. DO NOT give milk, it could make the diarrhea worse. Feed a bland diet if he will eat . Try baked potato or cottage cheese/rice. Keep him hydrated, if he won't drink water then try gatorade or pedialyte. Give your vet a call ASAP when they open

Do you know what type of food he was eating before he came to your home?? One of the most common causes of diarrhea is change in food. I wouldn't be overly concerned, however diarrhea and vomiting can result in dehydration which is something to be concerned about. Make sure he is getting plenty of fluids to compensate.
You may also want to try a different food. It may be an allergy. I personally use Science Diet for my pup (I've heard bad things about Iams, but have no personal experience)...Chicken Soup for the PetLover's Soul also has a very good reputation as quality puppy food.
If it doesn't clear up in a day or two...I would recommend that you consult a vet.

Call the vet, storm or no storm. This could be an emergency. If he has distemper, parvo virus, or a number of other illnesses, tomorrow will be too late.
DO NOT TRUST THE INTERNET when it comes to potentially fatal illnesses, unless your vet is online.
Is he still full of energy, or listless and barely moving? That's an important bit of knowledge you left out. Does he have a fever or chills?

I used to work at an animal hospital and its really important that you bring your dog to a vet ASAP. It might not be anything except a cold, but its hard to tell. If your dog is acting lethargic and doesn't seem to be eating, it might be a sign that your dog has parvo, which is VERY serious. Vomiting and diarrhea, especially in puppies, should be carefully monitored because they can become dehydrated very quickly. Try to bring your dog to a vet as soon as you can.

sounds like it is just adjusting to new environment etc. Just make sure he drinks plenty of water and try giving some boiled lean beef mixed with rice and he should be fine. Dogs get sick just like humans do. If it lasts more than a week (or you see blood in the feces, urine or vomit) take to a vet.

You do not give puppies milk, they get diarrhea. You feed BOILED hamburger and rice. SEVERAL small meals per day. BUT, you need to get the pup to a vet. IF there is a condition...like Parvo, time is crucial!!! Like I said before....GO TO THE VET ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like tomorrow!!!! Why get a pup if you are not going to take care of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NEWFS FLASH SPORT!!! Vets are required to have an EMERGENCY service. Yes it costs MORE, but it is there for you to use!!! Of course they are closed Sundays!!!!! Vets get a day off here and there too!!! Call and PAY the price for the emergency visit!!!

For now, don't feed him anything and let his tummy settle. Just offer water. If he improves in 24 hrs, you can try rice and cottage cheese. But it sounds like you should go to the vet as soon as you can get there.

you need to call a vet.
or the spca if your vet is closed.
what is worm milk?
just give him his puppy dog food. and make sure hes not eating any other rubbish or over eating his own food.
i hope he is vaccinated though.
at least his inital shots.
and until theyre over pls dont take him outside or let him mingle with other dogs

Take him to the vet ASAP!
Probably minor, or easily cured, but you DON'T want to mess around with guessing about intestinal issues.
