Besides buttermilk, should I marinate my chicken in vinegar (distilled white vinegar) overnight before frying them?

Your idea sounds great. I've tried marinating for # of hours or over-night in italian dressing, the taste was good, but gave everyone indegestion or heartburn.......I'd go for the homemade with less vinegar. Vinegar actually starts "cooking" your meat before you cook it.....

if you like hot sauce, marinate your chicken in hot sauce, not tabascco. we even marinate it overnight in our favorite store brand oil/vinegar italian dressing.

vinegar is an acid... it will super tenderize the meat....use just salted water (1/2C salt to 1Gal Water) it will be super moist.

Forget the breading and frying (too much bread and oil) -- it will clog your arteries.

Bake it in the oven, or put in a crock pot, with some herbs, onion and garlic powder, and paprika. TASTY !!!
