Its normal to have it on the kitchen table but you might try balancing it on the kitchen sink.
I have tried it on the stairs leading up to the front door flat (but be aware of the neighbours as they might want some), on the washing machine & in the shower.

Depends on the circumstances. I'll make assumptions based on the category you posted to, Singles & Dating.
If it's with your significant other, I'd go for the table as it's more formal and can certainly be more romantic if done right. You know the drill - flowers, candles, etc.
On the other hand, if you are by yourself, the TV tray is darn sure easier. That's how we eat most of our meals around here. It's quick and comfortable and you can watch TV while eating.

I must say i like to eat at the table if it is dinner. I end up spilling it if I have it on a tray. It's not great if you have to keep getting up to do something either ie. answer the phone across the room etc.

You need to forget dinner (you could do with losing a few pounds).
Have sex on the table instead.

I think you should throw the dinner into the bin and give your boyfriend a good shagging on the table...

having it on the table is OK but not in cafes or restaurants where if you get over excited some innocent diner at the next table may get kicked.................... and remember to remove the salt pot first
