The was a farmer who wanted to go across a river. The famer had a dog, a goat, and some cabbage. The famer's boat was vey small so the farmer could only take one thing across the river at a time. The problem was that if the goat was left alone with the cabbage, then the goat would eat the cabbage. If the dog was left alone with the goat then the dog wold eat the goat. How can the farmer get everything across the river?

Please help. Thanks!

First take the goat across. Come back and pick up the dog and take that. Bring the goat back and pick up the cabbage and take that. Come back pick up the goat and you've got all three across.

The farmer takes the goat across the river. Then he returns and takes the cabbage across. But as he returns for the dog, he brings the goat back with him. He drops the goat off and brings the dog across the river. Then he goes back for the goat.
