D.O. stands for Doctor of Osteopathic medicine. DOs have the same qualifications to treat and diagnose diseases and prescribe medications as MDs. The difference is they went to a different type of medical school and are generally more open to treating the entire patient using the fewest possible drugs. Other, than that, they are the same thing as they are both trained physicians qualified to practice medicine in the U.S.

Personally I feel that it's too much brag for me.. Sounds almost as if it's more of a show about professions and a merger of businesses rather then what it really is a wedding.. Have you ever seen anyone else ever put their professions on a wedding invitation?? Theres a place to brag and a place to be real.. Weddings are real... not a place to pump up egos. Your parents will have plenty of time at the reception to brag all they want to all their friends (although most will be turned off by it)

It stands for Doctor of Osteopathy.

Different people will give you different advice, but I strongly encourage you to choose MDs only and not go to DOs. They do not have the same training.
