I am 23 years old and have over 10 years experience in child care. I also have an associates degree in childhood education. The mother is asking for over 40 hours of childcare per week, including 1 overnight 7pm-7am. I am going on the interview this Friday and want to be prepared with an hourly rate. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. If anyone has any questions for me that would help, just ask! Thanks a lot!

I take care of 2 kids a 3 yr old & 1 yr old.The 3 yr old is in school 3 full days a week 9-3 & 1 half day 9-12 noon. They started paying me $14.00 p/h,40 hrs a week and I'm getting a raise every year(2%).I have 13 years experience, but I don't have a degree. You on the other hand do have a degree, you should ask for $14 or more an even more because they have 3 kids.
Another thing I get all the holidays off,6 sick days and when they go out of town I get pay for those days, too. I only do babysitting no cleaning and just the kitchen after I feed the kids & kids clothes.
oh! another thing, when I use my car they pay for gas and milliage.
I hope this helps you,good luck!! :0)

Depends on where in the country you are, but $10/hour seems right. She should be paying time and a half for any hours over 40/week. Make sure that you get a tax form at the end of the year, she will be claiming child-care expenses on her taxes so make sure you pay taxes on the money you earn. If they offer a benefits package such as vacation, sick leave, health insurance you can expect to make less on an hourly basis, but the benefits will make up for the decreased hourly.

have u thought about joining family day care. It is available all around Australia and is approved for the child care rebate. Generally speaking the rate is between $3.50 & $4.00 per hour per child. You should look into this option as it is a great way to make money at home. You will get the full benefits of a normal income and the mother of the three children will get the full benefits of the child care rebate. Look up family day care in your local phone book and just enquire. It wouldn't hurt!!

ok yea your getting ripped off. For gazing 2 children for 10 hours an afternoon you should a minimum of be making 5 money an hour for fifty money an afternoon. the size of city shouldn't count number too a lot. more suitable so what the family members can manage to pay for and what you imagine is honest. in the experience that they don't look to be paying you what you want, you should locate somebody else to visual show unit. in the experience that they are including more suitable youthful ones interior the summer season, you should upload 3 money an hour more suitable for them (2 $ for one toddler and an more suitable a million$ for the different one) In all honesty when you're gazing 4 youthful ones 2 who're lower than the age of four , one isn't potty educated and one has habit issues i imagine a honest fee will be 10 money an hour . for 2 youthful ones 8 money an hour i have self belief is honest. and also you should ask their father and mom to convey their personal snacks and lunches actually. Or they could upload 1dollar an hour on for the nutrients to be presented. I were a Nanny for 5 years, and that i'd under no circumstances artwork for below 8 money an hour at the same time as i began. You did not state your experience, yet once you've many years of experience you may ask for more suitable money. Like now i doesn't artwork for below 11.50 an hour(2 youthful ones), they provide the nutrients money for going out and the different prices. at the same time as i'd "babysit" my first 12 months out of highschool i have been given taken income of, because i'd watch 2 youthful ones for 4 hours an afternoon 5 days a week and purely make 50 money a week. That become retarded of me. And 25 money an afternoon for 2 youthful ones for 10 hours an afternoon isn't honest. i'd ask them to pay you 8 money an hour, with them bringing snacks . in the experience that they want you to grant nutrients ask for 9 money an hour. at the same time as the different 2 get extra ask for 10 an hour..and in the experience that they nonetheless assume you to pay for nutrients then cost them 12 money an hour, feeding 4 youthful ones fee money!
