I have been told by someone that their tattoo artist told them to drink red bull before going to get their tattoo because it gets you slightly "high".

This sounds like a load of balls to me but just wondering what you guys think?

I have never been told this.

Answers so far have been from **** holes.

I have tattoo's already and am fine with the pain. What I want to know is has anyone else heard of doing this and does it hold any point?

this is bull.. if you really want to dull the pain.. get some hydros.. also called lortab and vicadin. Not to expensive and this will help.. take 3-5 depending on your size.. if your very large take 5-6. very small prolly take 3. And no this will not get you addicted.. If you actually feel pain then the pills take away the high feeling.

putting anything in your body before getting Inked is not a good idea, people have been told to take vicodin or have a drink, just makes your blood thin and you bleed more. I have never heard the redbull thing, I personally like the feeling of getting a tat, it hurts so good!!! Makes me go to another level of some sort!!!! But yea sounds like a load of sh....I say just grin and bear it...

It does not matter. Redbull does not make everyone get a "high" it has no effects on some people and they just drink it because of the taste.

I would say not to do this. Your adrenaline is already going to be pumping and your body is going to be preparing itself for pain. (It doesn't hurt that much, really. More like a burning sensation.) All Redbull is going to do is make your heart beat faster and you might run a risk of passing out.

on that note: avoid ibuprophen, aleve, or aspirin for a couple days before. They are anti-coagulents and thin your blood.

You should never do anything that makes your blood thin before getting a tattoo. You really shouldn't even be drunk when you get one. I have two tattoo's and was not under the influence of anything when I had mine done, I didn't even think they hurt either.

I don't think it will help at all. Whoever told you that is talking a load of bull.

red bull just works like 2 shots of espresso, if you get my drift.
It all depends on your sensitivity to caffeine, hence the "high" reaction.

Nevertheless, you will still feel the pain.

never heard of it, but red bull does nothing for me. i don't think it would do any harm. don't drink alcohol, though, because it thins your blood.
