I had one of each at the same time, and they got along just fine.
If they're both male, make sure you have them both neutered because you don't want a battle of dominance between them.
Actually, get them fixed no matter what sex they are.

Just wonder if you've any idea how much work two puppies together would be. You cannot train 2 puppies at the same time, so you need twice as much spare time as you do for one. Far better to get one and 18 mths to 2 years later get another. Most dogs will accept a new puppy. If it was me, I'd get a dog and a b1tch and have the b1tch spayed.
Both are fantastic breeds if you buy from reputable breeders and make good temperament a priority. Both breeds have inherited health problems so make sure you know what these are and that the parents have been tested clear of problems.

I have a Rotti my sister has a shepherd both girls they get on fine.
But when they play beware the room just isn't big enough and everything goes flying.
In the park they are a pleasure to watch they run and run together and end up exhausted and hot in the river an absolute joy.
The German Shepherd is the older of the two and she is definitely the boss my girl has learned so much from her and looks up to her as if she is mum.
If you have the room for two big dogs i would say go for it and enjoy

Yes they can get on just like any other breeds.I would advice a male and female as both the gsd and rottie can display dominance between other males.Make sure you get one or both spayed/neutered.I wouldn't advice on getting two pups together though as this can be very hard work you have double the training and socilising and unless you and your fiance were going to do this seperate then it wont work.Wait untill your first pup reaches at least 6months old but ideally wait untill its a year old.Dogs reach adolecence at 6months onwards and having 2 together could be chaos and very hard work.Good luck.

They should be fine. It may be better to get a male and female so there's no real dominance battles, but be sure to get them spayed and nuetered as soon as possible.
Find a credible breeder in your area that will let you play with the litter so you can see how the puppies interact with each other. don't pick a pup that's too shy or too bossy. Hopefully two easy-goeing pups will get along well. However discuss your plans with the breeder and be sure they'll take the pup back if they don't get along.
Good luck.

They both have very dominant personalities and would prove to be very unstable and unpredictable. Perhaps you could choose a rottweiler ***** (and she will be) and a German Shepherd dog. They automatically want to protect what is theirs,(that being you and your home) so they will be in constant battle with each other. My advise would be to choose one, as they do need alot of attention. Go for the German shepherd, they are far more intelligent and want to be trained and guided. Perhaps think about when you two get married and if you want to start your own family, a rottweiler is not your ideal family pet. They are much better suited to a one to one relationship. Good luck

Even if they grow up together, they will still have spats and little arguments. But if they grow up together, then they will be pack members and they will settle their complaints with relative ease. If you try to mix two adults, the results could be less amiable. When raising them together from puppies, breed is really not that relevant. They don't see each other as "breeds" they are just dogs to one another. The smaller will think he is the size of the bigger and the bigger will think he is the size of the smaller.
I would advise getting one male & one female. I would also advise having them spayed/neutered right away.
Best wishes!

get them as pups and let them grow up together and you will have no problem what so ever. I have got a siberian husky cross alsation and a rotty and they get on fantastic. It is only when you put two adult dogs together that there is a risk of fighting. I am also an ex breeder of dogs and know from experience.

What you should do is get a male and a female, and get them spayed and neutered. Two dogs of opposite sex are going to get on much better than 2 of the same. Also, make sure you check out the breeders of both dogs very, very thoroughly, both for temperaments of the parents and to make sure they do all health checks on their breeding stock. Both of these breeds have a lot of health problems if bought from back yard breeders.

Any breed can get along together, but it depends on the dog. Two dogs of the same breed could just as well get in a fight as two different breeds.
