Fertilizer runoff's bad, mmmm-kay?

Fertilizer causes algal blooms (like red tide) which can increase growth of nasty bad plants and also make the stuff that feeds on the algae unsafe to eat. Anything that increases growth, increases problems for a water treatment system. Algal mats, clogged-up machinery, killer seafood--it's bad.

Chemical fertilizer runoff is a huge problem, not just because of extra chemicals in the water, but also because those chemicals are there to make plants grow more. It's bad.
