I've tried a few but either the interface was cumbersome or it didn't split exactly where you told it to( a few second off)so I was wondering if there were others that I should try that might work better. Freebies or not, don't care. As long as they're not infected or patckaged with spyware ofcourse. Quality programs.

Try audacity if you haven't already.

I'm using "mp3DirectCut" and it's doing the job for me.Stops right when you tell it to.It's a freebie too.Hope you like it.
