You see death is just a transition from physical to spiritual, on open mind will be able to move on...a mind chained down by religion, such as Christianity will more than likely build a self imposed heaven or hell because their reality will be crashing down around them and they will not have the knowledge of how to move up and beyond that point....

well you have to go through the transfer process that is the hardest part. The old you does not want to part with the old.But the new you, looks forward to the new life.Believe me hope and never stop your dreams ,unless your tired of serving then just give it up....If your looking for rest, best wishes friend .. If you chose to live again in a new world those you love think that your gone in the old world. But in your new world they are still there .I know you think i need pills. But hay try it.I died once and still am alive (Ha Ha) love is stronger than death..Its deep but you can chose rest , that is what i seek.No more pain, no nothing .. I did not make it. yet as i have love, too bad for me... hate and you go to rest my friend no more pain or service to a GOD that treats you so so bad unless you go for a bribe of money and love, then next life you get screwed again
its deep so its your choice but the powers will crush you if you wish to leave and not serve.. so be prepared for the worse unless you make a pat with the devil known as GOD

Death is the end of life. Death is the absence of life. It is not a door to some other world. Death is not an awakening and it is not any sort of rebirth. It is an enemy.

The cure for death is resurrection.

Throughout history, man has successfully coped with many seemingly intractable problems. But death has remained inescapable. Everyone who appears on this earth no matter when, is destined to die. Man only lives until a certain day and then dies. Some die very young, while still babies. Others go through all phases of life and face death in their latter years. Nothing a man possesses, neither property, fortune, status, fame, grandeur, confidence nor good looks can repel death. Without exception, all men are helpless against death and will remain so.

The majority of people avoid thinking about death. It never occurs to them that this absolute end will befall them one day. They harbour the superstitious belief that if they avoid the thought of it, that will make them immune from death. In daily conversations, those who intend to talk about death are interrupted out of hand. Someone who does begin to speak about death, intentionally or not, recalls a sign of God and, even if only to a very slight degree, removes the thick cloud of heedlessness covering people’s eyes. Nevertheless, a majority of people who make insouciance a way of life, feel uneasy when such “disturbing” facts are presented to them. Yet, the more they try to escape from the thought of death, the more the moment of death will obsess them. Their devil-may-care attitude will determine the intensity of the terror and bewilderment they will experience at the moment of death, on the Day of Judgement and during the eternal torment.

Time works against man. Have you ever heard of a man who has resisted ageing and death? Or, do you know anybody who will not die? This is quite unlikely! Unlikely because man has no influence whatsoever on his body or on his own life. That he himself did not decide his birth makes this fact obvious. Another piece of evidence is man's desperateness in the face of death. The owner of life is the One who grants it to man. And whenever He wills, He takes it back. God, the Owner of life, informs man about this in the verse He revealed to His Prophet:

We did not give any human being before you immortality. And if you die, will they then be immortal? The Holy Qur'an, Chapter 21, Verse 34

At this moment, there are millions of people living around the world. From this we conclude that countless people appeared and passed away since the creation of the first man on earth. They all died without exception. Death is a certain end: for people in the past as well for those currently alive. No one can avoid this inevitable end. As the Qur’an puts it:

Every self will taste death. You will be paid your wages in full on the Day of Resurrection. Anyone who is distanced from the Fire and admitted to the Garden has triumphed. The life of the world is just the enjoyment of delusion. The Holy Qur'an, Chapter 3, Verse 185

man, I've deliberated this myself, I guess the only time when we really find out is when it's too late and whoever dies can't come back to let everyone know what it's all about.

Honestly lately I've actually come to a revelation that not any one specific religious group is correct, because there seems to be holes in all the storylines of all the religions. Don't get me wrong I think there has to be something after death, there has to be some higher form.

Personally, I'd say it's some of both. It's the end of life in mortality (obviously) but the start of a whole new life. At death, I think you can really see who you are very clearly, so I'm sure it's somewhat enlightening. Having never really died before, to the best of my knowledge, it's hard to say.

-No Such thing as Sprits or Ghosts

For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any [thing] that is done under the sun.
Ecclesiastes 9:5-6 (KJV)

-No such thing as Reincarnation

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Hebrews 9:27 (KJV)

-No Such thing as going to Heaven when you die.

John 3:13 - No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man.

Death and the Grave are where we are in a sleep like state but have no conscience thought. Waiting to be brought back to life if we have followed Jesus teachings.

Jesus said to Martha, John 11:11 - Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.

I attended at the deaths of each of my parents, and at the death of a friend.

Death is an ending. The body stops, and that life is ended. The person is gone forever. Afterlife is a myth, created by humans who are aware of and fear their coming deaths. There is no other side, and no one is waiting for us there.

Live now, love your family and friends now, savor your time with them now, don't waste the precious days you still have.

In a sense you can say it's more of an awakening for no matter what one has chosen up til that point, it's then the time to learn the real truth.
