The steel bowl will conduct the heat faster but the steel can supposedly react to tomato sauces etc. (I've never been able to taste the difference but some people swear they can.) The glass bowl retains heat longer when it comes out of the oven so it heats a little more evenly and it is more attractive if you're going to serve straight from the oven.
