my question is that is the S1 supposed to be a Master Sargent or a 2 LT. and also do i need an officer cord. also what else does the S1 need.....(is there any S1 out there)

The S1 has both an OIC and a NCOIC. The rank of the officer and the sergeant depends on whether the S1 is at the company, battalion or regimental level.

I am not familiar with the term officer cord.

a SNCO can be the OIC of the S1 if there is not any officers in that unit to full it
