The people above have the right recipe. Some places leave the tequila out and just put an extra half ounce of sweet and sour mix, which I'm sure makes it not as strong. When those same places put the tequila back in, it's called a Texas Tea, but tequila is in the original recipe.

In a tall glass mix 1 part each of your white liquors vodka, gin,rum and triple sec then fill almost the rest of the way with sweet and sour or Margarita mix and a splash of coke, garnish with a lemon. If you don't want it quite as stong add more sweet and sour mix.Tequila does not go in a long island, If you add tequila it makes it a Texas tea.Still worried about it being too strong, drink slower.Enjoy!

Cut back on the booze if you want it to be less strong.........

1 part vodka
1 part tequila
1 part rum
1 part gin
1 part triple sec
1 1/2 parts sweet and sour mix
1 splash Coca-Cola®

Mix ingredients together over ice in a glass. Pour into a shaker and give one brisk shake. Pour back into the glass and make sure there is a touch of fizz at the top. Garnish with lemon.

LOL You cannot make a weak Long Island Ice Tea! It is all white alcohol ( vodka, gin, triple sec, rum, tequila with a shot of coca- cola. If you want "sweet tea" add some sweet and sour mix.

There really isn't a way to make a not strong LIIT. They are almost all alcohol, as you can see from the recipes above. You can put less alcohol in or more mixers, but that will change the flavour.
