Nothing happens at all. If they didn't do it on purpose, it's not a sin. Sinning is intentional. They didn't do it intentionally, so there goes your idea of sending them to hell on purpose without their knowledge. I get a kick out of those who say "douse them with pig's blood" and all of that. The person themselves didn't do it, so they are not guilty. You know, like a rape victim didn't do it so she's not guilty?

It is true that pigs eat whatever they can find. They eat like humans and they have stomachs like cats that can digest much harsher things. Today meat is grown under supervision back thousands of years ago in rural and urban communities it was very different. Pigs would eat amongst other things dead carcasses. For this reason they would very often carry diseases. In conjunction, pig meat is also very fat meat, which means it rots much faster and hot and humid places like the middle east. Bacteria grows much faster also, a few hours after the animal was slaughtered small minorities of bacteria would already grow to big cultures. I believe some cultures noticed that people tend to get sick and die more when pigs were included in the diet. And so it became a health hazard, and has gone into the religious 'do's and dont's'. Today, a very useful initial aid in archaeology in determining whether the population of a settlement was canaanite or Israelite is examining whether pig bones are found. As for the pure animals with split hooves and cud chewing, I believe that people simply examined the healthy animals, and what they all had in common, as opposed to animals that made people sick and die. This was possible because in Judeo christianity god created the world in order, where everything has an explanation. Since it was part of religious law, it remained the practice for the past few thousand years, and today is still practiced, although Jews today eat things that are much worse than pig meat... such as Mcdonalds bah.

Well pork in any form is very distinctive and I'm sure by site, smell or texture they would soon tell. But the point you are making say if i was served pork by someone who knew it was forbidden for me but assured me that is was not pork and something else. The fault would not lie with me. It would be the responsibility of the person who was deceiving me. Even if i was unawares and never knew i would not be held responsible the person who served it would. I dont see you deceiving a Muslim or Jew in this way like i said pork is very distinctive not like other meats. Who is going to believe it tastes like lamb or beef no one. One bit and the jig would be up. If you got that far which i doubt you would. Even if i go to a restaurant ask if there say chicken is Halal and they say yes it is, I eat it then find out it was not Halal the responsibility is the person who lied not me. I would not be held responsible.

I was under the impression that even coming into brief contact with pork or pigs denied a mohommedan entry to his/her mythical paradise for eternity.
Perhaps middle eastern wars should be fought with "pork chop guns" :-).

I once knew a man who owned a resort restaurant. He would have pork-chops on the menu. And the Jewish people would come in an order mutton chops or something and what they really wanted was the pork chops but did not want to KNOW that this was what they were eating. He did not have mutton chops on the menu. Once he went out and got mutton, feeling guilty, and the Jewish people didn't like those "mutton chops", they wanted the other kind. So I don't think anything happens if they don't KNOW.

They would not be in any trouble for it. You may because you knew of the dietary restrictions and served them pork anyway. It would be cruel to tell them.

May the peace, blessings and mercy of God be upon you
I am a Muslim. God has told us, that in a desperate situation we are allowed to eat pork, this is how merciful he is with us. But if we accidentally, like honestly didn't know then one can seek forgiveness and there is nothing wrong done. But as for those who are purposely negligent, and do not fear God then for them it is a sin.
Peace Be With You

This will never happen. A Muslim or a Jewish person are experts on knowing the food they eat. Especially Pork. Dream on.

It is not like this is a major sin that sends us directly to hell. Every major life choice is guided in detail by Islam. Within our dietary guidelines, this is something that is forbidden to us. If it came to the point of absolute starvation or eat pork, we are allowed to eat it.
In Islam, we are responsible for the choices we make after being informed properly.
