Paint it a LIGHT color.
Put mirrors on the walls.
Make as much open space as possible - for example, put your beds into an "L" shape against two inside walls, so that they don't both stick out into the middle of the room. The nightstand can go in the corner.
You could also ask about getting bunkbeds. Maybe trade places every six months so that each gets an opportunity to sleep on top, unless one is afraid of heights. With bunkbeds, you each have a little privacy when you are both in them, and it saves the space of one whole bed!
Use underbed storage to help get rid of clutter. Get a bar that divides the closet into a top section and a bottom section for hanging blouses, skirts, and other short items.
Add wall shelves for extra storage space without using floor space.
Put a "shoe pockets" bag on the back of the bedroom and/or closet doors for storing small items or shoes.
Agree to keep it NEAT.
When my sister and I used to share a room, we measured the room (doors, windows, etc.) and all of the furniture. Then we used posterboard and construction paper to make a smaller-scaled version of everything (1 inch = 1 foot), so we could rearrange the room, experiment with placement, and agree BEFORE moving any furniture. It was a fun project, and I still do that before I rearrange a room.

Hi, I had to share a room with Patty, my sister, and we had the same problem. We finally talked mom and dad into getting mirrored closet doors, and that really helped. We also moved our twin beds together(like one big bed)and that also helped. We would constantly moved our furniture around to see what the best options were.We had the desks together back to back, both dressers long ways (touching ends)against the walls, things like that.I think that we moved things so often it always seemed bigger, and bigger. Just experiment!

Avoid clutter and look for those bed above the desk units that are made just for limited space - so all your stuff fits right there under your tree house type bed. Keep the crap off the walls and use limited colors (a bunch of color change adds to the cluttered look).
Try to marry your sister off so you can have the whole room.

Take some furniture out, put it elsewhere! Secondly hang up some large mirrors around the room, that'll make the room appear larger than it is. Also bright colours on the walls instead of dark ones, and keep the room clutter free (including the dresser!)

combine functions of your furniture
put storage under the bed, effe3ctively use your closet space and get clutter out of the room
. There are many ways of making a room bigger , but the biggest repair is- get rid of clutter and excess stuff ( like pictures all over the walls, teddy bears piled high in corner etc)

Try minimizing. Get rid of stuff.
Rearange a few times.
Stuff a dresser in a closet if one will fit.
Get a notebook computer, then you won't need a desk.
Hang mirrors.
Choose light colored paint.
Get matching or coordinating bedding and always keep them made.
Keep it clean.
Good luck ;)

I would reccommend mirrors, and bright colors. The mirrors give an optical ollusion that the room is bigger, while the bright colors give a more open feel!
