The thing is when we have a cold we already run the risk of dehydrating. Its important to drink plenty of fluids to loosen up the mucous in our chest so we can cough it up and not end up with pneumonia. Coffee would probably be fine if you only drink a cup or so. If you put creamer of any sort in it, you will probably end up coughing from it. Caffiene in itself will dehydrate the body, so don't drink too much.
PS. Chicken Noodle Soup really does help the symptoms of a cold. Good wishes to you.

drinking coffee is fine when you are sick. especially if it is something you always do because the caffeine withdrawal will be as bad as being sick. But the hot liquid will loosen the mucus in your nose and throat so you can breathe more easily. the caffeine will also speed up your heartrate getting the blood flowing so the immune system can get around to the sick places faster. coffee is not recommended if you dont normally drink it, but if you are a coffee drinker, it wont hurt and may help a little

Coffee is acidic and can sometimes give you a stomache ache. It's an "upper" and effects your intestines. If used in excess it can cause dehydration and a general feeling of being wired. The fact that you associate it with the stress of taking exams and being exhausted doesn't help. Cut down. Take a nap.

Orange juice is always what the dr. tells me to drink. Coffee probably isn't on the list as pop wouldn't be either.

If you are feeling sick it may be better to avoid drinks which are milky. Try warm squash, its lovely when you're feeling queasy;
