only two things can tell the gender of your unborn child.
An ultrasound-but I've hard lots of "oops I thought I was going to have a girl" with that.
An Amnio-usually to determine birth defects, but they can tell gender by that too.

No, there is absolutely no proven method of finding out a baby's gender before birth besides the ultrasound. Even the ultrasound can sometimes prove to be wrong, but it is the most effective way of determining gender before birth.
Some people will tell you that the baby's heart rate, how you are carrying, and the presence of various symptoms will tell gender, but these are all "old wives" tales, and are completely based in myth.
It stinks to have to wait until a 20 week ultrasound, but that's the only way!

No sometimes it is hard to tell the gender for sure with an ultrasound. There are a lot of old wives tales that say you can tell before hand like you only gain weight in the belly for boys and you gain all over for girls, but none of that is fact everyone has different symptoms and experiences with pregnancies.

Stopped by to lay this one on you that I have never told another living soul !!
My grandmother (passed many years ago) could tell a woman what the gender of her child would be almost perfectly every single time she was asked---the individual had to be at least five months into the pregnancy before she would attempt this feat ---and she was asked A LOT ........
She had told ME that the clue to HOW she did this was something that had been passed down to her by HER mother from many many years before---and it goes like this---
She said that -- If a woman is going to have a female-- the individual would "age" in appearance somewhat beyond their years during the pregnancy---she attributed this to the fetus drawing down on the individuals female hormones in development--- AND --- If she was going to have a male--- her appearance would lean toward looking somewhat younger than her actual age--- she said THIS was because "something" in the developing male -- added some kind of "kick" to the woman's glow !! -----------She had a saying in regards to this (seeing that she had both male and female children) -- She said-----" with a girl you do your aging BEFORE the birth " and just left it at that !!!
She also said that it was usually only the matter of one or two "cycles" before a woman returned to "her old normal self" as far as her general appearance---with the exception of the weight thing which she said mostly came from women-- " catching up to everything that they were denied during the pregnancy "
Don't know how this would work for anyone else---but it damned such worked for her--- a lot of people SWORE that she was some kind of Witch because of this knack-- and some of the church ladies from that time literally FORBID any of their people from dealing with my grandmother at all----and by the way --she WAS from Gypsy stock !!!

there really is no way to tell. some people try to guess by the way they are carrying the baby and others by how fast the heart rate is, but those are not accurate ways to determine the babies gender. id say wait for the ultrasound before you start painting the room.

Its genetic, and it is determined at random.
The 23rd Chromosome pair determines the sex of your baby.
If there is two X chromosomes, the baby is female; if there is an X and a Y chromosome, the baby is male.
There is a single gene located only on a Y chromosome that determines "maleness."

Some people will claim they can but in reality, you're just playing a guessing game. Maybe you'll be right, but, many I know were completely wrong. Shell
