Of course i feel pride for these guy's who put their life on the line for a fallen comrade, What i don't feel proud of is the fact that they didn't have the right equipment to go in and get the job done. This is down to the MOD and government policies not to spend more than they think necessary.
Our guys will always do their best to get the job done so you can always feel proud of them, lets hope the government feels the same as it citizens and rewards them accordingly

Indeed yes - but why did Apache helicopters have to be used. There are whirlybirds better adapted to that kind of work.

I've got an immense feeling of respect for what they did. I'm not sure if I could have done the same... Mind you, if a fellow serviceman was stranded out there, I'm sure I'd do something to help. We have that mentality in the forces.

I salute them for their feat of bravery.

It's another prime example of being ill-equipped to do the job. MORE FUNDS PLEASE!

yes I do feel enormous pride in the professional and fearless way our troops operate in difficult and often unfriendly terrain while according to the newspapers sometimes with inferior equipment, I salute our brave soldiers abroad for defending our belief in the right to freedom for all

constantly i feel pride...with our armed forces everywhere. its too bad though we have to wait for this type of rescue to happen to bring attention to them...all the media every goes on about is how horrible it is to be where we are. we are constantly helping others in other countries and without the military we could none of that.

It was fantastic and phenomenally brave thing to do, but that's what happens in the forces, it breeds a special sort of camaraderie that really comes to the fore in situations like this. You depend on your mates...
