You need to check with your doctor because many of the over the counter sinus meds don't alleviate the severe pain. I personally have chronic sinusitis & I take Sudafed Sinus. (oval pinkish tablets) If you have high blood pressure you need to let your doctor prescribe the proper medicine for you.I also use a prescribed nose spray & your doctor may do the same for you.

My allergist told me to use 2 cups warm distilled water and 1 teaspoon non iodide salt, and flush my sinuses out. Not only did it help with my sinus problems I also haven't had a cold in 2 years. They also sell a saline solution that you add water to and the kit includes a bottle to mix it in to flush them out. My allergist gave me a 750 ml syringe to use for this. It hurts at first from the pressure, but after a few days it's great to breathe and not have all the pain and pressure from your sinuses going crazy all the time. I also used a prescription nasal spray for about 3 months don't need it any more. Good luck!

drugs can be very addictive and perpetual the problem unfortunately. You need to find the cause of the pain, ie is it due to a chronic infection or possibly allergies.

The use of a humidifier can be beneficial, but be careful with some heated humidifiers as they can promote bacterial growth if not kept clean.

I've personally done acupuncture on people for chronic sinusitis and pain with some very positive results, but it does depend on what the pain is due to.

good luck.

I am assuming you have tried all of the "over the counter"sinus medications eh?
My daddy told me to make a saline solution,(salt and water boiled then left to warm)then put it in a coffee cup and drink and or inhale it through the nostrils. It sounds horrible, but OH MY GOD .does it ever work.....when pain is at it's worse. It also reduces the swelling in your face that no pharmacy products can do.I wish you the best sweety

if u havent tried something like Flonase already, you should do that along with the Sudafeds. takinga daily nasal spray is a huge help. suffers of sinusitis regularily get sinus infections, so maybe u need an anti biotic. i let mine go too long one time and paid dearly.

My sister has that and nose bleeds, her doctor prescribed Nasonex, you should ask about it.
