find things in common to chat about? be there coz he needs a shoulder now?
i really think you need to be un-selfish at this time & just let him lean on you. then fingers crossed!! mebbe sparks may fly & he'll notice how great a friend (& hopefully a potential girlfriend) you are... then again mebbe it's the romantic-selfsacrificing mode that i'm in now!
but really dun think that you can force someone to love you (note to ownself at the same time)...

give him time to get over his ex,be his friend and see what happens.Show him you care.
