It shouldn't be painful at all after it's done. My son had two teeth pulled a couple weeks ago at 10:20 AM and buy lunch time he was at restaurant with me eating a chicken tenders meal. Granted he is 16 but if he can do it with two teeth it should be fine for your daughter. Don't make a big deal out of it just make it a matter of fact type thing. Tell her that you will take her out for something fun later in the day for being so good about having this done.

It will be as painful as you allow it to be. If you don't make a big deal out of it, she probably won't either. Most of the time, with deciduous teeth, there is hardly any root left on the tooth and it's already loose enough to just fall out. I've actually pulled them with gauze after putting topical on the tissue, just when I'm cleaning them off. The kids are usually ecstatic when that happens, no Dentist, no injection. The best thing you can do is make this a good experience and don't make it a big deal. Let her have Mr Nose (N20) and she won't even feel the injection or anything. After it's over ice cream is the best remedy. There usually is no bleeding after about 10 minutes or so. As far as pain afterward, usually nothing that a Tylenol can't take care of. Good luck and hope I was of some help.

Leaving the carious tooth intact would lead to the bacteria spreading, possibly causing infection or damaging the permanent tooth. Taking the tooth out is the best option, especially because your child is so young and would find it hard to cope with anything more complex. Problems that could result from the extraction, though: 1) Loss of space for the permanent tooth. The early loss of the baby tooth can cause the permanent tooth behind to tilt forward, lessening the space available. 2) Abnormal position of the permanent tooth - the baby tooth helps guide the adult one into position, taking it out can sometimes cause the adult tooth to come out at the wrong angle. This can be fixed later with orthodontics. The extraction is probably the best option - the best thing you can do now is prevent it happening again. Be really aware of your child's diet, try and avoid sugary snacks between meals, and sugary drinks. Stick to milk or water. Remember to brush their teeth twice a day with fluoride toothpaste. Ask your dentist about fluoride varnish, and fissure sealants when their adult teeth come through (at about 6). Good luck!

It shouldn't be bad at all- What we did the other day was we used topical to numb the area and I kept rubbing the area while the dentist actually used the needle. The boy had no idea what was going in because I kept talking to him. Then I turned my suction on and kept it by his ear so he couldn't hear the sound, he could only feel a Little pressure. After wards we had him bite on some gauze for about 1/2 hour. The boy actually said is that it? Good Luck!

First of all keep your fears away from your kid.... do not let her know you are concerned. do not talk about it infront of her. Do not give her any information about what she will have done this is something to let the dentist tell her. too much info can be a bad thing,
Now that that is over......
There is very little pain after, really just let her have soft foods and by the next day she should be fine.
I work as a dental assistant and i do this EVERY day

My granddaughter 6 yrs old had a tooth pulled. She was given something to drink to make her groggy. She came here and said "MomMom, I fell asleep and whenI woke up my tooth was out." So all she had to take was Tylenol for the day. Never stopped her from eating.and no pain.
