On delicate tissues like your nose or navel, a piercing gun can cause bruising. But they are much much more likely to be sterile than needles. If you're not having problems, it's fine.

Keep it clean, and don't change the jewelry until it's healed. Try to stick with hypoallergenic nickel free jewelry, and never use peroxide or alcohol because they can cause irritation and pit the metal of your jewelry. Only use alcohol and peroxide free disinfectants. And don't leave the hole empty for very long or it will be painful to reinsert your jewelry.

Piercing Guns are NOT professional. No self-respecting professional piercer would ever use one, they are NOT sterile, and they are MUCH more painful than a needle. I refer you to http://www.namaii.com/suck/ for more details. If you're gonna get any other piercings, go to a studio, where they'll do it with a real piercing needle.
As for your nose, keep it clean and sterile as you can, dont touch it too much, and if it swells, or starts weeping badly, have it checked out for infection. Once again, PIERCING GUNS SUCK! If you havn't had any ill effects from it, count yourself lucky.

First of all i persume a needle is better than a piercing gun. However either way use antiseptic or rubbing alcohol to protect it from infection.

The gun will go in straighter I would think. Less chance of infection if done right. Professionals should know what they are doing. Whereas doing it yourself you really don't know what to do or how to do it.
