I am currently working as a CNA with the state of North Carolina.....I have three years military experience with the 82nd Airborne....I am interested in finding a good-safe job in Iraq and was hoping if anyone had any useful information they wouldn't mind sharing it with me....thanks for your time.

I worked over in Iraq for 18 months and I am planning on going back. The others are correct regarding the safety. Although there maybe safe jobs no place in Iraq is safe.
All it takes is one mortar round landing close enough to kill or injure you and you'll realize it isn't safe regardless of your job. I had a mortar round land and explode leess than 50 meters from me on Camp Victory. Lucky for me there was a metal conex container between me and the impact point.

You sound like someone that wants their cake and eat it too. There are no safe jobs in Iraq. People die there every day. That's why the big bucks are paid to people with balls that believe the risk is worth it. Ya can't make 200K a year tax free if ya don't want to take the risk. Also, you say you have experience with the 82nd. No way in Hell were you actually in the military and assigned to that unit as a Paratrooper. If you were a Paratrooper, you wouldn't ask such a asinine question.

My knowledge is limited to what my friends in Iraq have told me but from what i have heard maintenence is a fairly safe job.

She's right, there are no safe jobs in Iraq. Probably won't be for sometime either.

If you are interested in whats available go to monster.com. The money is great, but there is no 100% safe jobs.

You can check usajobs.gov to see if there are any DOD jobs being offered out there in your field. There are also a lot of civilian agencies that have contracts out there, just google search your job title and see what company has those types of contracts.
