Because society is not entirely made up of christians. Forcing others to be under your control smacks of slavery.

This type of government was realized under Solomon and is known as a theocracy and is a good form of governement only "before" Christ. Keep in mind that I am a Republican American and think this form of government is the best and yet I believe Christ is not so much concerned with any form of government - He is concerned with how we live for Him.
Keeping this as a foundation, we can abstain from bombing abortion clinics, hating others of different skin color, etc.
This was also tried in Europe via John Calvin and in New England during the Puritan storm to that area - all of these theocratic set ups did not last long. And in each case, great prejudice developed for the ungodly.

It is not about control. It is about choice. Christians want, as God does, for people to choose to love God and live for Him.
There is a strong effort by many, many Christians to impact and transform modern culture for Christ. The only other choice Christians have is to withdraw from culture and lead sheltered lives. The Pennsylvania Dutch lifestyle is that way at an extreme.
"Be in the world, but not of it" is the verse that triggers you to be a transformationalist or a separatist, depending on which of those clauses you see as more important.

We get lazy.
And how can people say that our nation wasn't founded on Christian principles? HA!

It's not called free will for nothing. Is that what God does? You need to understand that what you say reflects on all christianity, and as a christian I would like to say that that is the kind of thing that will keep people away from our faith. Be careful

There is no forcing anyone to do something they don't want to do. I think God is more interested in your personal relationship with Him and how you live your life. When Messiah comes back, He will set up His kingdom and rule with an iron hand. He is the only one who is able to make this happen.

Lol good one. The truth is you are too tightly locked into your cocoon of ignorance to try anything so bold. You are afraid if you dare to think your fantasy Boogie Man Satan will jump out and bite your butt and you will loose your little piece of your la la land of eternity. Betty, Boop Oop A Doop!

Haven't you already done that? Spanish Inquisition? Salem witch trials? Crusades? Remember those? So all you really need to do is go gather some wood and put some pokers into the fire, and you're all set.
